Gas and Process implements unified GT naming for integrally-geared turbocompressor line

Cologne, January 6, 2017 – The Gas and Process Division has decided that effective January 1, 2017 all of its integrally-geared turbocompressors will be named GT, replacing the previous four-fold naming convention of GT, H, SC, TP.

The uniform naming will be GT integrally-geared centrifugal compressor or GT integrally-geared turbocompressor.

“At Atlas Copco, we are always seeking a better way of doing things. With our decision, we want to position and market one uniform integrally-geared turbocompressor product serving the many applications that our customers require from us for their operations,” said Robert Radimeczky, President Atlas Copco Gas and Process Division.

Now covering the Gas and Process Division’s entire integrally-geared turbocompressor capacity range, the GT can serve all key air, nitrogen and hydrocarbon gas applications in markets such as LNG, industrial gases, chemical/ petrochemical, fertilizer, power generation etc.

The Division’s general turbocompressor line will be augmented by the non-geared RT Series air compressor and the non-geared T Series compressor for process gas applications (i.e., polyolefins).
