Training Courses
Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC provides a variety of training programs to support the needs to turboexpander equipment users worldwide. These courses focus on specific disciplines, to support management, planning, operations, and maintenance.

Standard courses are described below. Customized programs tailored to individual situations are also available. These include French and Spanish language presentations, as well as customized course content.

Course #301: Factory-Based Operations & Maintenance Safety Training. Includes:

* A training syllabus designed specifically for the plant’s specific turboexpander application
* Course materials in English (one sample)
* Various classroom instructors for five, three-hour classroom sessions
* One factory technician instructor for one three-hour factory-based session

This course is conducted in English and is presented in seven parts over a three-day period:

Classroom Work:

1. Industrial safety in the workplace
2. Turboexpanders and their relationship to your plant’s process
3. Turboexpander installation and commissioning
4. Turboexpander startup and operations
5. Turboexpander servicing and problem resolution
6. Overview of sub-vendor instrumentation information

Factory Work:

7. Turboexpander disassembly and assembly procedures

All course material is formatted for presentation to students with no background in turboexpander operations. However, as a factory-based course, Course #301 is designed for presentation to management level operations and maintenance personnel. Course material may be adjusted based on the intended audience, at possible additional cost. Contact MTC for additional information.

Course #201: Customer Plant-Site Operations & Safety Training. Includes:

* A training syllabus designed specifically for your turboexpander application
* Course materials (one sample) (process operations or production personnel)
* One instructor for five, three-hour classroom sessions.

This course is presented in five parts over a two-day period:

1. Industrial safety in the workplace
2. Turboexpanders and their relationship to your plant’s process
3. Turboexpander installation and commissioning
4. Turboexpander components and support systems
5. Turboexpander startup and operations.

Course #202: Customer Plant-Site Maintenance & Safety Training. Includes:

* A syllabus designed specifically for your plant’s turboexpander application
* Course materials (one sample) (maintenance personnel)
* One instructor for three six-hour classroom sessions; this may include site field trips

This course is presented in seven parts over a three-day period:

1. Industrial safety in the workplace
2. Turboexpanders and their relationship to your plant’s process
3. Turboexpander installation and commissioning
4. Turboexpander startup and operations
5. Turboexpander servicing and problem resolution
6. Turboexpander disassembly and assembly procedures
7. Overview of sub-vendor instrumentation information

For Courses 201 and 202:

The course material is formatted for presentation to students with no previous background in Turboexpander operations; however, students should be generally familiar with gas processing and the equipment associated with it. Students might include, among others, middle management personnel, process engineers, and plant process operators. Other than general familiarity with plant equipment there are no specific prerequisites for course attendance.

Each class is limited to 15 students to maximize the opportunities for student-instructor interaction. If necessary, consecutive courses can be presented.

For these courses an appropriate training classroom should be provided to ensure a positive learning experience. A computer compatible projector (for PowerPoint presentations), a chalk/white board, a speaker’s podium, and a VCR should be made available.

A sample (single copy) of course materials is included in the quoted price for each training course. Additional copies will be provided on request, for an additional charge. As an alternative the purchaser may make an agreed-upon number of copies using a master provided by Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC.
