Exponential Expander Power

Experience adds up
With the acquisition of Mafi-Trench Corporation (MTC) in 2007, Atlas Copco Gas and Process did more than add another product line to their product portfolio. Together, Atlas Copco Energas and Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC bring their long histories and extensive experience to form the premier turboexpander technology company in the world.

These two strong companies, each with their own niche in the turboexpander market, have produced an exponential result.

Radial inflow turboexpander technology has its practical beginning in 1936, with the KT Division of Linde AG. Today, Atlas Copco Energas, located in Cologne, Germany, can trace its history back to these original turbomachinery pioneers.

A 'fresh approach' to turbomachinery
Building on the experience gained designing, manufacturing and commissioning thousands of turboexpanders has made Atlas Copco Energas a market leader in turboexpander technology, especially in air separation and integrally geared applications.

Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC (formerly Mafi-Trench Corporation), located in Santa Maria, California USA, has produced custom engineered hydrocarbon turboexpanders since 1975. Known for their “Fresh Approach”, Mafi-Trench has grown with the hydrocarbon processing industry, developing highly efficient designs that have developed from the small gas plants of the US “Gas Patch” to the world scale gas processing plants in the Middle East.

Delivering superior turboexpanders
With each passing decade, Mafi-Trench’s superior service, quality, and reliability helped establish itself as the premier hydrocarbon turboexpander supplier.

Atlas Copco is not content to rest on its successful history, but continues to employ advanced research and development programs to extend the application and performance of radial in-flow turboexpanders. When your applications require turboexpanders, rest assured you are partnering with the most experienced turboexpander supplier in the world.
